A month or so, a friend of mine introduced me to the Arizona Rookie League. I immediately fell in love with utilizing my photography skills in capturing live action baseball. I have always loved baseball and of course I love taking photographs and this was the perfect opportunity for me to combine both of my loves. It was so much fun trying to get the perfect shots. Needing to understand where the best places were to be to get just the right angle, or to be in a good position to capture the action in the field without anyone or anything in the photo. I just wish I learned about this prior to the last few weeks of the season. That's ok though, because I am already making plans to attend more games next year when it starts again and start building out my image database for the players to be able to download their photos to be able to share on social media.
Stay tuned as I have a lot of photos to post. If you want to see just a sample of some of the edited photos, take a look at my gallery. If you were a player in the Arizona Rookie League and you haven't reached out yet, please feel free to do so. I only got to a handful of games, but if I did attend one of your games, I might have some photos to share with you. The best way to reach out is on Instagram @fastbookphoto
This weekend I attended the Thunder and Lightning Over Arizona air show in Tucson, Arizona. What a wonderful time it was watching all the amazing planes, helicopters, stunts, jets, etc... The highlight of the show was the United States Air Force Thunderbirds performance at the end. It's amazing to see the talent and ability to control these F-16 jets at the speeds they were going. If you get a chance, I would definitely check out a show, especially if the Thunderbirds are performing. They never let you down.
Photos from this event are available in the Photographs section under Planes, Trains, and Autos
One of my favorite things to do is to meet people and share my photography with them. It's a lot of work to setup for some of the events that I go to but when people start looking at my photography it makes it all worth it. Although I am selling my art, that isn't even the highlight of the day. It's just being able to talk to people about my passion and to get feedback on the photos that I've displayed. Occasionally another photographer will stop by and then it gets real exciting talking about different shots and talking which gear they use, etc... I primarily use Nikon, so it's always a fun little debate when someone who uses Canon or Sony stops by for a visit.
I took a little break from events for the holidays, but now that the new year has started, it is time to start up the events again. Below is a list of some upcoming events in case you want to stop by and say Hi.

Created in 2011, World Elephant Day is designed to bring awareness to the need for the protection and preservation of the world's elephants. On this day, let us do what we can to share and create awareness of the plight of African and Asian elephants. These animals are being hunted for their ivory and are losing their habitat due to deforestation, mining, and other agricultural activities. On this day, share on social media and through any channel available to you about the threat against these gentle giants.
